May 2025 Graduates’ First Destination Outcomes

Within six months of graduating from the Masters of the Environment (MENV) program at 91´«Ă½, 75% of job-seeking graduates from the May 2025 cohort secured employment, with 81% agreeing or strongly agreeing that their current role aligns with their current career interests. Of those employed, 44% secured employment before graduation. The median salary of May 2025 graduates as of November 2025 was $76,0000 compared to their pre-MENV median of $50,000 with 53% of graduates reporting over $70k in their first destination role, an increase from 22% of pre-MENV roles. On average, alumni salaries increased by $26,000 for a 45% increase.̀ư

Long-term Alumni Outcomes

MENV alumni have careers spanning the public, private, and non-profit sectors. With almost half (47%) employed in the private sector, about a third (33%) in the public sector and 20% working for non-profit organizations. The program was founded in May 2016 and in the summer of 2025, MENV’s Long-Term Alumni Employment Outcomes Survey tracked employment trajectories of alumni who graduated between 2017 and 2024. The survey was sent to 542 alumni, and 171 responded (32%). Of those, 81% reported that their current role is directly related to their MENV degree. The average current salary of respondents was $109,992, with a median of $91,750. Seventy-seven percent of alumni’s first destination positions were full-time with an average salary of $65,529 and a median of $60,000.̀ư

In total, MENV alumni have 66 different undergraduate degrees, and survey respondents averaged 4.5 years of work experience before starting the MENV program, with some alums coming into the program right after completing their bachelor’s degrees and others getting their degree more than 10 years after completing their undergraduate education.

Alumni Employers

MENV Alumni work for a long list of employers. In the non-profit sector, only one employer, RMI, boasts multiple MENV graduates. In the private sector, top employers include Arrow Electronics, Schneider Electric, Scout Clean Energy, and VF Corporation. In the public sector, alumni work for counties, cities, and towns across the country, with a high concentration across the Front Range. Alums also work for multiple Colorado State departments. The Colorado Energy Office and Boulder County employ the most MENV alums in the public sector. Several Colorado municipalities’ sustainability offices are led by or supported by MENV alumni, and several also host MENV internships and capstone projects. The City of Louisville, Colorado’s sustainability team is comprised of two MENV alumni and an MENV student intern. ̀ừư
