Career Events

MENV has four program-wide career events each academic year. These events bring together industry professionals from careers that span all five specialization areas to connect with students in a variety of ways. Students have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with professionals through coffee chats and speed networking sessions, attend panels of 3-5 experts in the field at Alumni Engagement Day and Careers in the Environment Fair, practice interviewing for realistic roles with employers through mock interviews, and chat with employers and alumni in unstructured networking settings.ÌýÌý

Speed Networking

MENV’s two-day Speed Networking event connects students to around fifty industry professionals across sectors. Students have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with up to six professionals for 10-minute networking sessions. The event also features an unstructured networking dinner, allowing students to mingle with additional folks working in their field.Ìý

Careers in The Environment Fair (CITE)

The Careers in the Environment Fair is an ENVS-wide career exploration event featuring a State of the Field of Sustainability panel of experts, and two hours of employer tabling at the Career Exploration Expo. The event is designed to convene leaders in the field, emphasize emerging trends in the field of sustainability, support students in building their professional network, and showcase a breadth of career opportunities. This event is open to all students and alumni.

Mock Interview Day

The MENV Mock Interview event provides students with the opportunity to practice interviewing with industry professionals for realistic roles. Students review the job descriptions and prepare as if they were interviewing for an open position, and are given feedback and tips from the industry professionals. Each interview session pairs two students with one interviewer, so students also get feedback from peers and get to hear how others go about answering certain interview questions.Ìý
