Student Organization Allocations Committee
The Student Organization Allocations Committee (SOAC) is part of CUSG. It reviews funding requests and votes on how money is distributed to recognized student organizations (RSOs).Ìý
SOAC is led by the SOAC Chair and a board of student members.
To be eligible for funding, an RSO must be open to all 91´«Ã½ students.Ìý
Recognized Social Greek Organizations (RSGOs) or selective RSOs are eligible for event funding as defined below.
SOAC Travel Deadlines:
2026-2027 Academic Year
| Monday, July 6 | Deadline for September/October travel |
| Monday, September 7 | Deadline for November/December travel |
| Monday, October 5 | Deadline for January/February Travel |
| Monday, January 4 | Deadline for March Travel |
| Monday, February 1 | Deadline for April Travel |
Note: Competitive groups who will not know if they will be traveling to compete and are waiting for competition results may submit funding requests at a minimum of 30 days prior to the travel date. SOAC does not fund off-campus retreats. Ìý Deadlines are subject to change dependent on the hiring of the SOAC Board. | |
SOAC Timeline:
Fall 2026
| Mon. July 1 | RSOs can submit funding requests for Operational/Event requests for the 2026-2027 academic year |
| Mon. July 13 | Virtual funding hearings begin. SOAC will prioritize travel requests due to the travel deadlines but if availability allows will review other types of funding requests. |
| Wed. Sep. Ìý1 | First in -person SOAC Hearing of the academic year. |
| Wed. Oct. 14 | Priority Submission Deadline: Last day for RSOs to submit event/operational requests on BuffConnect to be heard by November 18th (Wednesday). RSOs can submit request after Oct. 14th Ìý(so long as they abide by the 30-day deadline for event). SOAC cannot guarantee there will be hearing times available. |

Note: Once your approved funds are reflected on your BuffConnect portal you must have a pre-spending meeting with CSI Finance to discuss how you want to spend your approved funds. RSOs who are approved for funding have until May 1st to spend any operational funds. Operational food requests don't carry over to the following semester and must be spent by the deadline outlined in the SOAC approval email RSOs receive.Ìý Deadlines are subject to change dependent on the hiring of the SOAC Board. | |
