2026-2027 Global Asias
2026-2027 Global Asias
Ìý
The Center for Asian Studies' theme for 2026-2027 is Global Asias. With this theme, we seek to encourage academic inquiry that frames Asia and its diasporas as interconnected, rather than as a fixed geographic region. CAS has long emphasized Asia as a region of cross-boundary connections rather than bounded coherence. This year, our Global Asias theme will highlight research that examines transnational and cross-border flows, networks, circulations, and connections of all kinds, both within and beyond Asia. With this theme, we willÌýpromote both deep regional expertise and multi-regional and transnational paradigms for scholarship in Asian studies.
