NICC Winners 2023

The Leeds SustainabilityÌýCase Competition (LSCC) was started in 2001 and is organized by MBA students from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado. ÌýLSCC is the premiere MBA competition focused on solving real world sustainability business cases. The competition attracts top-rated business schools and future industry leaders to Boulder, Colorado.ÌýLSCC is an opportunity to bring together students, executives and businesses that share a common commitment to sustainable business practices.

LSCC has a history of attracting an impressive cast of judges, with last year's panel representing companies such as Arrow Electronics, Deloitte Consulting, Navigant Consulting, CH2M Hill, NREL, Zayo Group, John’s Manville, MWH Global, Xcel Energy, and Chipotle.Ìý

LSCC highlights include the potential of winning up to $10,000, amazing networking opportunities with MBAs from across the globe and with professionals from a wide range of industries, and the chance to compete with some of the best minds in one of the most beautiful places in the US!

Annie Sanchez, President of Team Relations

is a first-year MBA student at 91´«Ã½ passionate about creating meaningful impact in the outdoor industry through strategic, mutually beneficial partnerships. She’s pursuing her MBA to deepen her expertise in brand management and partnerships, with a focus on how companies can balance social impact, sustainability, and profitability. LSCC offers the perfect opportunity for Annie to put these values into practice and connect with like-minded leaders.Ìý

Mackenzie Findeisen, President of Communications

is a first-year MBA student at 91´«Ã½ with a background in public relations, brand strategy, and cross-functional project management. After nearly a decade helping mission-driven brands grow, she’s now exploring how business can drive both environmental impact and financial success. Through LSCC, Mackenzie is excited to help tell those stories and connect with leaders re-imagining business through an impact-driven lens.

Christopher Burnham, President of Operations

is a first-year MBA student at 91´«Ã½ passionate about clean energy, sustainability, and helping others succeed. In his role with LSCC, Christopher is excited to pivot from a background in corporate finance and dive headfirst into the sustainability space, with a focus on clean energy. He’s eager to apply his skills in communication, teamwork, and project management while building meaningful connections and helping deliver the strongest LSCC yet.Ìý

Mary Heiser, President of Judge Relations and Outreach

is a first-year MBA student passionate about sustainability, innovation, and impact-driven businesses. With nearly a decade of product marketing experience at high-growth startups, she’s now pivoting toward a career in climate tech and venture capital. Through LSCC, Mary is excited to connect student teams with judges and industry leaders driving meaningful sustainability efforts — bridging ideas across schools, companies, and sectors.Ìý
