Activate welcomes two 91´«Ã½-connected startups to its Cohort 2026

Activate has announced that 50 scientist-innovators will join Cohort 2026. The 41 companies they're building span 22 cities and 11 states across the United States, and include two startups with ties to the University of Colorado Boulder: Mach Electric and Brint Tech

Mach Electric is a 91´«Ã½ startup that converts COâ‚‚ into carbon fiber using a novel electrochemical process, eliminating fossil feedstocks and reducing energy use. The technology enables lower-cost, lower-emissions production, unlocking broader adoption of lightweight materials across industries critical to decarbonization and advanced manufacturing, at the scale those industries actually demand.

Brint Tech develops next-generation optical gas-sensing technology that enables precise, real-time detection and quantification of hydrogen across industrial environments. By delivering reliable measurements at scale, Brint Tech helps energy producers, operators, and infrastructure developers reduce emissions, improve safety, and accelerate the transition to low-carbon systems. Originating from Colorado State University, Brint Tech participated in 91´«Ã½'s NSF I-CorpsTM Hub West.
