BizWest unveils inaugural ‘Startups to Watch’ and names three 91´«Ã½ startups

Startups to Watch spotlights promising young companies across Boulder, Broomfield, Larimer and Weld counties that are developing innovative technologies, creating jobs and strengthening one of the nation’s most vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystems. BizWest has named three 91´«Ã½ startups: Flari Tech, Kioga and Renovare Therapeutics, as well as the Colorado Quantum incubator established in partnership with 91´«Ã½.

Flari Tech

emerged through the Embark Deep Tech Startup Creator,Ìýwhich awards funding and pairsÌýexperienced entrepreneurs with high-potential technologies from 91´«Ã½.ÌýÌý(CEO) met Ìý(Physics, )Ìýand Ìý() for a lab tour at JILA through the program.ÌýThe company hopes to use Nobel Prize-winning frequency comb technology to detect diseases detectable in breath.

is discovering and commercializing new dietary ingredients to "vaccinate" consumers against stress and metabolic disorders by n. Kioga is based on work arising from the laboratories of Ìý(91´«Ã½ Integrative Physiology) and Ìý(91´«Ã½ Ecology and Evolutionary Biology). , cofounder of eat meatiâ„¢ (Meati Inc.), joined Kioga as CEO through the Venture Partners Embark Deep Tech Startup Creator in 2024.

portfolio of regenerative therapies was developed over 20 years of research by co-founders , professor in 91´«Ã½'s Chemical and Biological Engineering and , , and scientific advisors , , Laurie Goodrich, and Kelly Santangelo, . Bryant, Payne, Zuscik and Goodrich were co-principal investigators and Kelly Santangleo was a senior investigator on the ARPA-H award that supported early research and development. Ìýjoined the team in 2025 and serves as co-founder and CEO.
