One more week until spring break, Buffs! This week brings to campus St. Patrick's Day celebrations and events, a mobile food pantry, free coffee and movies, candlelight yoga, a lecture by Nobel Laureate Tom Cech and more.

Monday, March 9

Big Ideas office hours

7 a.m.–7 p.m. C4C, third floor, Suite S360
Drop in at the Center for Leadership in C4C S360 or via Zoom and talk through your ideas for the future of 91��ý. Whether a fully formed concept or just a spark of inspiration, office hours are designed to provide low-barrier entry into the process. The Big Ideas initiative is a campuswide effort to surface and amplify transformational ideas that could shape the university’s impact for decades to come.

Want a resume that stands out to employers? Join Career Services to review effective strategies to highlight your skills and experiences on your resume. Students will be asked to participate in non-verbal ways and have opportunities to speak and work on their resume during the workshop. Our goal is that you'll leave feeling more informed, confident in your next moves and know how to reengage with our staff as you dive into your job search. Prefer in-person workshops? Returning Lost Treasures: Archaeology and the Law

Efforts to return cultural artifacts to descendant communities are reshaping how archaeology is practiced. This raises new legal, ethical and collaborative questions for researchers working in the U.S. and abroad. This public panel hosted by the Center for Collaborative Synthesis in Archaeology and the Institute of Behavioral Science will explore how repatriation, Indigenous sovereignty and heritage law are redefining the field.

'Project Hail Mary' free advance screening

Join the International Film Series for a free advance screening of the new film "Project Hail Mary." Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory slowly returns, he soon discovers he must solve the riddle behind a mysterious substance that's causing the sun to die out. As details of the mission unravel, he calls on his scientific training and sheer ingenuity—but he may not have to do it alone.

Fiske talk: 'Unveiling the Dawn of Massive Galaxies with the James Webb Space Telescope'

In this talk, Wren Suess, assistant professor of astrophysics, will dive into one of the biggest surprises from the James Webb Space Telescope so far: the discovery of enormous quiescent galaxies astonishingly early in cosmic history. How did these cosmic behemoths form so quickly, and why did their star formation stop so soon after the Big Bang? Suess will also share a sneak peek at a survey she's leading to map distant galaxies in unprecedented detail. 91��ý students are admitted free to Thursday night talks with a valid Buff OneCard.

Challenger and Columbia Memorial

Join the Arnold Air Society for a memorial for the Challenger (1986) and Columbia (2003) disasters. Between these two missions, 14 courageous astronauts lost their lives in the pursuit of exploration and innovation. Among them were two CU alumni: Col. Ellison S. Onizuka and Kalpana Chawla. The service will start in front of the Admissions Office and end next to the mathematics building.
