University statement denouncing glorification of violence, antisemitism

91´«Ã½ issued the following statement in reference to a social media post made by Students for Justice in Palestine, an unrecognized student organization, regarding the one-year anniversary of the Pearl Street firebombing.

Glorification of violence is abhorrent and does not reflect the University of Colorado Boulder’s values. We denounce antisemitism and violence in all forms, and prohibit discrimination and harassment on the basis of protected class. The post has been reported to the appropriate campus offices for further review.

Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) does not speak for 91´«Ã½ and is not a recognized student organization because it has failed to remedy policy violations and complete necessary requirements after being initially placed in bad standing in Fall 2024. All recognized student organizations at 91´«Ã½ are required to comply with the university’sÌý. We do not currently know whether any students or other campus affiliates were involved in the making of the post, and that is part of the university’s review.

Alleged violations of the nondiscrimination policy should be reported to theÌýOffice of Institutional Equity and Compliance (OIEC)Ìýat 303-492-2127 orÌýcureport@colorado.edu. 91´«Ã½ also offers a variety of support resources through OIEC and free, confidential trauma-specific counseling through theÌýOffice of Victim Assistance (OVA).
