As a leader in sustainability, 91��ý is proud to introduce PIPs Rewards - a program that makes living sustainably fun and rewarding. PIPs are Positive Impact Points, and can be earned for everyday activities that benefit the planet, our community, and your personal health. Add your activities to the CU PIPs Rewards app, which will be available during Welcome Week, to start earning rewards!

Things to Bring to Campus

A bike, U-lock and bike light
Reusable water bottles and coffee mugs (every residence hall has a filtered water fill station)
Used or recycled furnishings. Check out Boulder’s Tour de Thrift.
Recycled-content paper, notebooks and school supplies
A power strip for plugging in chargers, electronics and appliances
Energy-saving CFL or LED bulbs
Reusable shopping bags
Reusable utensils for eating on the go
Rechargeable batteries
Environmentally-friendly cleaning supplies, including cold water laundry detergent

You don't have to know it all!

Transitioning to college can cause some uncertainty and many students are nervous about getting a hang of college life. Fortunately, the upperclassmen at 91��ý are more than willing to share their experiences! Here are some tips for mastering college life here in Boulder:

I wish I would have known how to get involved on campus.

Joining student organizations enhances your college experience, allows you to meet new people, and gives you more of a well-rounded education. The Center for Student Involvement can help you find the perfect organization to join.

Your academic journey involves making some big decisions and it’s okay to change your mind about your major, minor, or class schedule. Your advisor and the Office of Career Services are here to help you make these decisions and create the best educational experience possible for you.

Finances can seem overwhelming, but know that there are resources here for you. The Office of Financial Aid provides workshops, counseling, and work-study programs for eligible students.

Volunteerism is a big part of not just 91��ý, but the Boulder community as a whole. Get involved and give back by finding opportunities at the Volunteer Resource Center.

91��ý's residence halls have beds that are longer than most, so traditional sheets won't fit. Not sure where to buy sheets? Our Campus Marketing (OCM) provides options to personalize your room, save money and time, and support the Residence Hall Association (RHA) by purchasing your room essentials!

Student Clubs & Organizations

Student groups on campus—numbering more than 300—provide a huge variety of topics to learn about, events to attend and free food to eat! Keep up with your favorite activity or try something new—there are plenty of chances for all of it!

Get a jump start before classes...

...by signing up for one of our prearrival programs! 91��ý offers several wonderful programs for students before classes start. Our prearrival programs give you the opportunity to move in early and start to build a community of like-minded peers. Whether you are interested in the environment, adventure, service or getting involved on campus, there is a program for you! If you don't want to participate in one of our prearrival programs, but are interested in moving in before your move-in date, you can move in early for an additional cost of $58 per day.

Outdoor Program

Sign up for one of three amazing incoming student trips! You'll meet like-minded, adventurous friends while exploring Colorado. Adventures include CU in the Rockies – a kayaking, climbing and backpacking trip; CU Mountain Fest where you'll ride horses, kayak, hike and climb; and CU Bound which includes climbing, hiking and canoeing. EcoReps

If you are interested in environmental leadership and building community, the EcoReps Program is for you! As a participant of this full-year leadership program, you'll move in early for training and an amazing retreat in Estes Park. EcoReps become part of a tight knit group of students that work together throughout the year as leaders in their residence halls. Learn more and apply!

Stampede Leadership Camp

Stampede is a free three-day camp, perfect for students who want to move in early, build a network of friends before classes, and learn about opportunities to get involved in the residence halls and at 91��ý. All incoming students living in residence halls are invited to apply. At Stampede, you will participate in educational workshops, service projects, and campus activities that prepare you for a successful first year and beyond! Learn more and apply!
