Procedural Guidance for PI’s Departing 91´«Ã½

The Office of Contracts and Grants is excited to announce that a comprehensive procedural statement and associated tools and forms are now available when a current 91´«Ã½ PI changes their relationship with the university – usually transferring to another institution. This documentation covers Roles & Responsibilities, Sponsored Projects, Property and Compliance considerations that arise across many campus units.

The process for a departing researcher is very in-depth and touches many people and units. These materials are intended to help everyone navigate the process successfully when a PI leaves the university. This guidance and respective tools were the collaborative effort of department research administrators and the following offices:

  • Office of Contracts and Grants
  • Sponsored Projects Accounting
  • Environmental Health & Safety
  • Export Controls Office
  • Office of Animal 91´«Ã½
  • Institutional Review Board
  • Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee
  • Technology Transfer Office
