- Five years before the novel coronavirus ran rampant around the world, saiga antelopes from the steppes of Eurasia experienced their own epidemic.
- Moderating the event were Max Boykoff, Environmental Studies Associate Professor and the CO-LSEN project lead, and Matt Druckenmiller, a research scientist at the university’s Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences and the CO-LSEN project co-lead.
- Dr. Colleen Scanlan Lyons (ENVS Research Professor) was nominated and selected to receive the 2020 individual achievement award recognizing her dedication to advancing partnerships for tropical forest conservation efforts that benefit indigenous peoples and local communities. This award announces the campus' appreciation of her commitment to reducing the burden that the CU campus and the Boulder community place on the environment.
