Fall 2026 Semester Rentals are currently available on a rolling basis. to view available appointment times.

Current semester rentals must be renewed by August 19, 2026. If you currently have a summer or previous semester rental, please schedule a renewal appointment before this date to avoid forfeiture of your deposit and aÌýStudent Conduct/Administrative Hold being placed on your student account.

Our rental fleet consists of 2022–2025 Kona Dew Plus bicycles. These versatile hybrid bikes feature wide 2.35-inch tires for a comfortable, stable ride on campus, bike paths and light gravel trails.

All rentals, renewals, and returns take place at theÌýCU Bicycle Warehouse, located near the southwest corner ofÌý3100 Marine Street (40°00'46.1"N, 105°15'04.8"W).

Semester rentals are available while supplies last. If no appointments are available, please emailÌýsemesterrental@colorado.edu to be added to the interest list or if you have any questions.

Rental Conditions
  • A semester rental bike costs $50 per semester, with a $200 deposit. The deposit will be refunded on the final return of the bike in good condition.
  • A U-lock is included as part of the rental.
  • Helmets areÌýnotÌýincluded. We recommend bringing yours or purchasing one from a local bike shop.
  • You'll need your 9 digit Student ID # and a Buff OneCard to rent a bike.
  • Credit/debit only. No cash or checks will be accepted.
  • Bikes are first come, first serve, with rentals usually taking place the first week of each semester (weather depending).
  • Bikes must be returned at the end of each semester. Even if re-renting for another semester,Ìýwe need to see the bike and do basic maintenance before sending the bike out again.
  • A non-returned bike will reported to CU Police and the Office of Student Conduct.
  • Another great option, and now with electric bikes, is theÌýBCycle bike sharing.ÌýStudents recieve a free membership.
Returning Your Rental

You will be contacted via email 2Ìýweeks before your due date as a reminder.Ìý

Once your bicycle has been returned, a Semester Bicycle Rental employee will assess any damages and deduct the appropriate amount from your deposit (if necessary).Ìý

Your Deposit Return

Your deposit check will be returned to the card used at time of rental. If your original card has been lost or destroyed, please let us know before hand. Please allow up to 21Ìýbusiness days for processing.Ìý
