Hi! I'm Kylene and I'm an undergraduate biological engineering major here at CU! I love hiking, snowboarding and arts and crafts. What got me interested in improving environmental waste was seeing the Buddhist temple I grew up in have such massive amounts of unnecessary waste. A core value of Buddhism is non-harm and mindfulness and what I saw certainly stood against those values, so I decided to implement recycling bins and trash pick-ups into the community there. The improvement I saw was massive and that’s what made me want to continue pursuing those efforts!
