Publicized Privacy
2025-2026

In our culture of social media, we have lost touch with privacy and intimacy.

Publicizing our daily actions has taken private moments and identities and turned them into entertainment for the masses. We are no longer cautious about the information we share with the world, and I want to emphasize the notion that not everything needs to be publicized. I desire to reconnect with sacred vulnerability and intimate privacy.

Through this project I take private, intimate moments and characteristics, and put them into the public eye, exaggerating the lack of privacy that we have created for ourselves — voluntarily or not.

By using film photography, in contrast to digital photography, I further emphasize the interest in vulnerability and intentionality. Film contrasts the instant gratification of digital photography, as well as the ready availability of social media.

I invite the viewer to consider how their everyday actions and experiences have been influenced by the publicized environment we’ve all created.
